The Solitario Island ( Spanish Islote Solitario 'Lonely Island' , in the United Kingdom Solus Island ) is a small island in Marguerite Bay off the west coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 5 km south of the Guébriant Islands and east of the Dion Islands off the southern end of Adelaide Island .
Your Spanish name appears for the first time on an Argentine map from 1957. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated it into English in 1965. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee decided in 1960 to name it from the Latin solus for lonely .
