The Guébriant Islands ( French Îlots de Guébriant ) are two small islands off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the northern part of Marguerite Bay they are 8 km southeast of Cape Alexandra on Adelaide Island .
It was discovered by participants in the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . Charcot named it after Jean Budes de Guébriant (1860-1935), a French missionary in China .
