The Reference Islands are a group of rocky islands off the Fallières coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . In Marguerite Bay they are 3 km west-northwest of the western tip of Neny Island and 2.5 km southeast of Millerand Island .
Participants in the British Graham Land Expedition (1934-1937) led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill roughly mapped them in 1936. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey took 1,947 measurements before and called the group so because they as a reference ( English reference served) for further surveys.
