Bijimta , also Reino Bijimita , is a village (Tabanca) in western Guinea-Bissau . The place is in the administrative sector of Quinhamel and has 760 inhabitants (as of 2009).
history
The place name goes back to a historical "Kingdom of Bijimita" that was known here in the 17th century.
In connection with the cholera epidemic in Guinea-Bissau in 1994, Bijimita was also the subject of several international studies.
In 2011 a Brazilian evangelical religious group established a local church here.
