Bike (also: Biike , Entrance Island ) is a small island that belongs to the Abemama Atoll in the Gilbert Islands in the Republic of Kiribati .

geography

Bike is a motu in the western edge of the atoll. The island lies south of the South Passage and has a roughly triangular base. The Sand Bank Awash stretches towards the lagoon, and a shipwreck lies at the mouth of the passage.

The settlement of the same name is on the east side (lagoon side), there are 17 residents. In the west is the island of Abatiku , further south-east is the island part of Abemama Kenna . The settlement of the same name with approx. 190 inhabitants (2010) with a church and a community center (Maneaba) is located on the island.
