Balance analysis system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A balance sheet analysis system supports credit institutions in evaluating the annual financial statements of their borrowers for the purpose of balance sheet analysis .

application

Pursuant to Section 18 KWG , credit institutions are obliged to obtain an overview of the borrower's financial situation when granting loans . To this end, its annual financial statements are transferred to a balance sheet analysis system by bank analysts . The analysis system then uses the recorded information to generate key business figures , which are incorporated into a rating as the basis for the credit decision together with other mostly qualitative factors .

Using industry comparisons, it is possible to compare a company with other companies that are active in the same industry . Some balance sheet analysis systems offer this function in order to generate comparative values for a company's key figures. These so-called peer group comparisons enable a company to be compared directly with its competitors. The prerequisite for both comparisons is that the information in the annual financial statements is available in a uniform format.

As external persons, investors are often forced to base their investment decisions on publicly available information. The annual financial statements are the most important instrument here. Balance sheet analysis systems support the investor in the selection of suitable investment objects.
