Wayside shrine in Arzell

The wayside shrine in Arzell , a district of the municipality of Eiterfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda , was built in 1839. The wayside shrine on the corner of Am Küppel and An der Schlierbach is a protected cultural monument .

Over a slender pedestal a smooth with ornamental fields rises column , the bottom having a bead ring and a profiled die capital is completed. The attachment is designed as a laterally curved vertical oval with a flat segment arch .

On the front is a relief of the Holy Family with a dove of the Holy Spirit floating above it. On the reverse is the following inscription: "In honor of Jesus Maria Joseph built this wayside shrine. J. Joseph Maier zu Arzell 1839".
