Bill Payne (game designer)
Bill Payne is a Canadian game author who became internationally known for the skill game Villa Paletti he developed in 2001. Payne is a private chef and runs a soup kitchen in Canada.
Villa Paletti was named Game of the Year in 2002 and reached the 4th place in the German Games Prize in 2002. According to Payne, the idea for the game came while babysitting with his nephew, who played with building blocks. After completing the prototype, Payne contacted several game publishers through a broker and Israel, Abe Mor, and his daughter, Inbar Lushi. The German Zoch Verlag finally launched the game in 2001.
On the basis of Villa Paletti , he also developed a larger version of the game, the Palazzo Paletti , which is based on the same game principle. According to his own statements, he developed further prototypes that have not yet been published.
