The bimini twist knot is a fishing knot that is specified with a load capacity of 100%. It is therefore also suitable for big fish .

Knot

The fishing line is passed through the hook eye (possibly twice) and the end of the line is held. Then the hook is twisted up to 20 times (depending on the thickness of the cord), preferably by a helper. From the last winding, the end of the cord is wound back to the beginning. Half a knot is now placed on each part of the hook and then the cord is fixed again with a " two-loop knot ". The excess cord is cut off.

Wrap the bimini with the "auxiliary coil"
  • Alternatively, the fishhook can be hooked onto a line ring and the end of the line with the tensioned line at a sufficient distance (20-30 cm) from the hook e.g. B. be attached with a Slipstek . Then make the desired number of turns with a spacer block (matchbox, empty spool, etc. which is inserted between the main line and the end of the line after the hook). Pull on slipstek and continue with the rewinds.
  • In the case of very thin fishing lines, it is advisable to put a nail or a match on the hook in front of the first winding so that the end knots on the hook can still be carried out (pushed through) after the reverse windings.
  • With the recommended 20 turns, the twist would have become very long and would have required up to four times (70–80) turns to get back tightly wound to the hook. The knot below was tied with cord and only five twists, which resulted in 20 rewinds!
