Fishing knot

Among anglers nodes different to node understood that mainly by anglers for fishing with the fishing rod can be used. These knots are used to connect the fishing hook to the fishing line (main line) , for example . Side lines, weights, swivels , various fishing lures and other connections ( leader ) are also tied to the fishing line. The thin and smooth fishing lines ("monofilament" = made of only one fiber) and "multifilament" (braided from several fibers) fishing lines require special knotting techniques. The most noticeable thing is a large number of turns or windings in order to get enough frictional force to “fix the knot” on the smooth fishing lines. For example, easy to recognize in the Albright knot , Bimini twist knot and blood knot .

Many fishing knots are based on a multiple loop knot . This is basically an eye through which, depending on the number of loops, the line is wound on one side as often as the number indicates ( round turn ). For example, the two- loop knot is put through the eye twice and the five-loop knot is consequently put through the eye five times. The chlinch knot has a four -loop knot at the end .

In order to be able to tighten all knots better with the smooth cord, it is advisable to moisten the cord or immerse it in water.
