The department of Loncopué is located in the west of the Neuquén province in southern Argentina and is one of 16 administrative units in the province.
It is bordered to the north by the Ñorquín Department , in the northeast on the Pehuenches Department , the east by the Añelo Department , the south by the Picunches Department and on the west by Chile .
The capital of the Department of Loncopué is the Loncopué of the same name .
