The Huiliches Department is located in the southwest of the Neuquén Province in southern Argentina and is one of 16 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Department of Aluminé , to the east by the departments of Catán Lil and Collón Curá , to the south by the Department of Lácar and to the west by Chile .

The capital of the Huiliches department is Junín de los Andes .
