Henning Klostermann

Henning Klostermann (born April 3, 1938 in Sondershausen ) is a German geographer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Sondershausen, Klostermann first completed a practical year in energy supply. From 1958 to 1963 he studied geography at the University of Greifswald , passed the examination to become a qualified geographer and then worked as a research assistant at the Coastal Protection Office in Rostock - Warnemünde until 1966 .

Klostermann worked from 1966 to 1985 as a group leader and sector leader for water balance research and water management at the coastal water management department in Stralsund . He received his doctorate in 1970 as Dr. rer. nat. and has worked as a freelance specialist translator and speaker since 1985.

In addition, he is involved as a BUND member in the field of environmental and nature conservation. In addition, he has been chairman of the Society of Friends and Supporters of the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences since 2006 . V.

Klostermann belonged to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from 1990 to 2002 , was environmental policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and from 1998 to 2002 chairman of the environmental committee.
