Binderholz in Fügen

The Binderholz GmbH is an Austrian manufacturer of glued solid wood products with headquarters in Fügen (Zillertal) .

history

In 1950 the parent company of Franz Binder Ges.mbH was taken over by Franz Binder sen. Founded under the company name Franz Binder as a timber trading company. Today the Binderholz Group is 100% owned by Binder Beteiligungs AG, which is owned by the Binder family. Hans Binder , the eldest son of Franz Binder Sr. and for decades in the management of binderholz, was the first Tyrolean to compete in Formula 1 races.

In 1957 the trading company bought a single sawmill in Fügen, and in 1963 the headquarters was inaugurated. A major fire in 1984 destroyed the plant, which was then rebuilt with a higher cutting capacity. Since then, the company has been continuously expanded, both in terms of workshops and locations.

At five Austrian locations - Fügen, Jenbach, St. Georgen, Hallein and Unterstberg - five German locations - Kösching / Interpark, Burgbernheim / Neustadt an der Aisch, Oberrot, Baruth and Wolfegg - and two Finnish locations - Lieksa and Nurmes - around 2,750 Employees busy.

In 2017, Binderholz took over the German group Klenk Holz from the American investment company The Carlyle Group .

Products

The solid wood products range from timber, profiled timber, single and multi-laminated solid wood panels, laminated beams to binderholz laminated timber BBS. The residual wood from production is processed into biofuels, green electricity, multi-purpose panels, pressboard blocks and pressboard pallets. The products are exported all over the world.

Binderholz's core business includes industrial wood recycling and the sale of these products. The company covers the value chain from the sawmill through further processing to the recycling of the saw by-products. binderholz primarily supplies the Central European market, but is increasingly increasing its global exports.

The felling of the wood is carried out by the group's own company Forest Professional GmbH, headquartered in joining and TTW forest management GmbH, based in Oberrot.

After the earthquake in L'Aquila in 2009, Binderholz helped rebuild the city.
