history

Name-giving bridge over the Dahme

Bindowbrück first appeared in 1775 as Bindowerbrück , and in 1788 as Bindowbrück . The name is derived from the bridge over the Dahme, which has been handed down since 1750, and the proximity to the town of Bindow. It consisted of a group of houses with a bridge house and belonged to the royal Prussian house fideikommißamt Königs Wusterhausen. In 1858 12 people lived in the village. In 1860 there was a residential and a farm building that was used as a forest keeper's house. Until 1878 it was under the judicial commission of Königs Wusterhausen, then the district court of Königs Wusterhausen. In 1894 the population had grown to 20 people. Bindowbrück never had its own church, but was parish in Friedersdorf . The bridge was blown up during the Second World War to make it difficult for the Red Army to advance on Königs Wusterhausen.

Economy and Infrastructure

The two largest employers in town are a boathouse with a campsite and a shipyard. The place is connected to the city center via Landstrasse 40 to the west, via Bindower Strasse to the south and via Bindower Dorfstrasse to the east to the surrounding districts and communities. The bus line 722 connects to Heidesee and Königs Wusterhausen via the stop of the same name.
