Bintanding Jarju

Bintanding Jarju (born April 10, 1957 ) is a politician in the West African state of Gambia .

Life

After finishing school in 1965, she attended the Rural Development Institute in Mansa Konko for one year from 1977 . Then from 1981 to 1982 she was in Cameroon at the Pan African Institute for Development and after graduation she acquired a diploma in rural development ( English Diploma in Rural Development ).

Hired she was in the Ministry of Social Development ( English Department of Community Development ). From 2001 she was active in parliament.

In the parliamentary elections in 2002 , Jarju stood as a candidate for the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the Foni Berefet constituency and was able to win the constituency successfully due to the lack of opposing candidates. In the following elections in 2007 Jawla remained unopposed and continued to represent the constituency in parliament. From 2004 she was also a member of the Pan-African Parliament of the African Union (2004–2009 and 2009–2014) . There she worked on the committee for gender equality issues.
