Mansa Konko (spelling variant: Mansakonko ) is a town in the West African state of Gambia and is the capital of the Lower River Region administrative unit . At the same time, it is the name of the elevation where the place is located.
According to a calculation for 2013, around 314 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 240.

Mansa Konko is located in the Lower River Region in Jarra West District and is approximately three kilometers north of Soma . The location is at the foot of a hill at coordinate: 13 ° 28 ' N , 15 ° 32' W . The 38 meter high elevation “ Mansa Konko ” from the Mandinka language is translated as “King's Hill” or “Government Hill”.
history
As the former seat of a ruling house, Mansa Konko was an administrative body during the British colonial period. You can still find some older buildings from this period.
