Binjamina ( Hebrew בנימינה, also Binyamina ) is a city in the Haifa District , in northwest Israel , close to the Mediterranean Sea , south of Haifa and north of Netanya . Founded in 1922, Binjamina was named after Baron Edmond (Benjamin) James de Rothschild . In 2003 the city merged with Giv'at Ada to form the local association Binjamina-Givʿat Ada .

The archaeological site of Caesarea is to the west of the city. In 2004 Binjamina had about 8,400 inhabitants. The city is known for the production of honey and wine . Some of Israel's larger wineries are located in Binjamina.
