The Haifa District ( Hebrew מחוז חיפה Mechoz Cheifa ), which surrounds the city of Haifa in Israel , is one of the six districts of Israel . It is 866 square kilometers and has 860,000 inhabitants. The district consists of the two sub-districts Haifa and Hadera.
