Tirat Carmel , ( Hebrew טירת כרמל, Arabic طيرة الكرمل, DMG Ṭīrat al-Karmal ) is a city in Israel . It is part of the metropolitan area of the port city of Haifa .
Location and general information
Tirat Carmel is located a few kilometers south of Haifa in the area of the Carmel coast between the Carmel Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea . Tirat Carmel was founded in 1948 on the site of the former Arab village of al-Tira , the inhabitants of which had left the place during the war of independence . 1992 Tirat Carmel was raised to the city. In 2018 Tirat Carmel had 22,210 inhabitants.
