Biological Psychiatry

Biological Psychiatry is a peer-reviewed scientific journal thatpublishesresearch on schizophrenia . It appears biweekly and has been published by Elsevier since 1985on behalf of the Society of Biological Psychiatry . The journal publishes research on a wide range of neuropsychiatric disorders. Every year an abstract appears with the contributions of the meeting of the Society for Biological Psychiatry. It was founded in 1959 as Recent Advances in Biological Psychiatry . In 1969 the magazine was renamed. The founding editor was Joseph Wortis . He headed the journal until 1992. The current director is John H. Krystal of Yale University School of Medicine . BP is indexed by over 10 indexing services. According to the Journal Citation Reports , thejournal's Impact Factor in 2020 was 12,095, which corresponds to a ranking of No. 1 out of 155 journals in the "Psychiatry" category.
