functionality

Compared to classic radar, the bio- radar works with electromagnetic waves of lower frequency and registers the smallest movements, including heartbeat and breathing . With the first devices from 1999, a scan took 36 seconds and covered an angle of 60 ° at a distance of up to eight meters. The system works e.g. B. through concrete walls. The new evaluation of the radar signals is made possible by a wavelet analysis and is shown graphically.

Applications

It is used to rescue people buried under avalanches or rubble , as special equipment for the police to combat human smugglers or to find people during raids . In contrast to search dogs , the bioradar can also differentiate between living and recently deceased creatures.
