The BiotechPark Berlin-Buch is a technology park in Berlin . With around 31,000 square meters of usable space, it is one of the largest biotechnology parks in Germany alongside Heidelberg and Martinsried. The innovation and start-up center of the Berlin-Buch campus is also located in the BiotechPark. Industry-specific laboratory and office space is offered to start-ups here. The BiotechPark is operated by the “BBB Management GmbH Campus Berlin-Buch”. The turnover is around 140 million euros per year.

The main topics in the BiotechPark are in the field of biotechnology and biomedicine. The focus here is particularly on the development of molecular diagnostics and therapies, the development of new drugs, innovations in medical technology and services for research institutions and the pharmaceutical industry, clinical developments, genetic engineering and bioinformatics. Other focal points are nanobiotechnology and medical technology.

The services of the BiotechPark consist in particular in the provision of branch-specific rental space - especially laboratories and offices - at favorable conditions with high flexibility. The operating company attached great importance to the proximity to basic and clinical research as well as to facilities for clinical special and maximum care. The BiotechPark offers founders and companies a wide range of services, infrastructure and networks.

The BiotechPark is part of the Berlin-Buch campus and is located in the northeast of the city, in the Buch part of the Pankow district . The technology park is well developed by the OPNV and can be easily reached by buses and S-Bahn.

history

The BiotechPark Berlin-Buch has been expanded by BBB Management GmbH since 1995 and has developed into one of the largest technology parks in Germany. To date, more than 60 million euros have been invested in the expansion and modernization of the campus infrastructure, the communal facilities on the campus and in the biotechnology park. The funds come from the joint task to improve the regional economic structure (GA) and from the European Fund for Regional Development (ERDF).

Since the 1990s, the meanwhile 50 small and medium-sized companies have also invested around 180 million euros. 38 of them work in the biomedical field. In total, the companies in the BiotechPark employ around 750 people.
