Birgit Beer

Birgit Beer (born around 1962 in Lübeck ) is a German opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Birgit Beer was born in Lübeck as the daughter of Manfred R. Beer and his wife, the local politician and member of the state parliament, Grit Beer . She grew up in Vienna . She received her musical training in Vienna from Renate Holm and Hanna Ludwig , after initially studying art. She made her stage debut as Papagena in Mozart's Magic Flute at the Augsburg City Theater . After three years of engagement at the Volksoper Vienna , she moved to Munich to the State Theater on Gärtnerplatz . She belonged to the ensemble of the Bonn Opera from 1992 to 1997, the ensemble of the Aalto-Theater , the opera house of Essen , then until 2000. Since then she has been working as a freelancer.

Birgit Beer lives in London.
