Birgit Kahle (journalist)

Birgit Kahle (* 1960 in Pinneberg) is a German author, journalist and communications consultant. She lives in Berlin and Bielefeld .

Birgit Kahle studied English, psychology and sports science at Bielefeld University, Crewe College of Further Education and Manchester University. She completed an apprenticeship as a concept designer in a media agency and worked at the same time as a co-author of culinary non-fiction books (including Pour Gourmets as a ghost for Peter Ustinov ). From 1992 she worked as a journalist and author and from 2002–2014 as press spokeswoman for the Belgian Vandemoortele Group. The main focus of her publications remained food and culinary arts, travel reports and subjects of the fine arts.

In 2000 and 2015, she and Tayfun Belgin published the art volumes Traces and Petrified Songs on the work of the Anatolian painter İbrahim Coşkun . In 2000 her novel Fidel C. and the revolt in my bathroom was published in Edition diá . In 2001 she published Cuban Cooking in the dishes series and her story in Edition diá by Die Werkstatt . As an author and co-editor, she has also published numerous non-fiction and cookery books, including about the operator of Chateau Duviver, a model project by the Swiss organic wine pioneer Delinat . Birgit Kahle portrayed contemporary artists in various contributions, such as her feature Narcissus is female on WDR5 on the 100th birthday of Leni Riefenstahl . She gave numerous laudations for visual artists such as Enrique Demetrio, the painter Friedrich Rasper, who died in 2008, the sculptor Carola Eggeling and the August Macke Prize winner Fujio Akai .
