Birgit Pointner

Birgit Pointner (also Birgit Pointner-Pfeifer , born May 30, 1973 ) is an Austrian journalist and author . She has been working for ORF since 1999 .

Career

Pointner graduated from high school in 1991 and studied German at the University of Graz .

From 1995 to 1996 she worked for the private radio antenna Steiermark and from 1997 to 1999 for the radio station 88.6 . She then worked in the newsroom of the ORF broadcaster Hitradio Ö3 until 2012 , where she was also the head of the service and moderated the news. From 2012 to 2014 she worked at ORF in the economics department and since 2014 in the domestic politics department, where she can be heard regularly on various radio programs.

Awards

In 2014 she received the radio recognition award at the Prälat-Leopold-Ungar-Journalist's Award for her program Das Wohnungs-Los in the ORF business magazine Saldo .

Publications

In 2010 she and her colleague Tim Cupal published the book Hellwach in Wien , which is about the nightlife in the city of Vienna.
