Birgitt Pfeiffer (born May 1, 1969 ) is a German social worker and politician ( SPD ). She was elected a member of the Bremen Citizenship in May 2019 .

biography

education and profession

Pfeiffer graduated from the Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium Bensberg in Bergisch Gladbach in 1988 . From 1989 to 1993 she studied social work and social education at the University of Bremen . On a scholarship abroad, she wrote her thesis on childhood and children in Norway in 1993 at the Norsk Senter for Barneforskning in Trondheim . From 1995 to 2001 she completed part-time training in intercultural work and mediation.

From 1993 to 1996 she worked at the house of the Tenever family , then until 1197 at the pregnancy advice center of the social service of the Catholic Church. ! In 996/97 she was a research assistant in the research project Children, National Consciousness , Ethnocentrism and Collective Identity at the University of Bremen. In 1997/98 she was the head of a Catholic crèche and in 1998/99 she worked for the SOS counseling center in Osterholz. From 1999 to 2006 she was employed at the Diakonisches Werk Delmenhorst. She then worked in the management and since 2016 as a full-time director of the volunteer agency in Bremen. From 2011 to 2016 she was also on the part-time master’s degree in Nonprofit-Magagement and Governance at the University of Münster.

Pfeiffer has been a member of the SPD since 2005 in the SPD local association Bremen-Woltmershausen and then in the Neustadt. In 2018, the SPD's Mandate Commission placed it in 12th place on the SPD list for the 2019 state election.
