Volker Stahmann (born February 27, 1964 in Axstedt ) is a German trade unionist ( IG Metall ), politician ( SPD ) and member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

Stahmann attended elementary school and secondary school in Regensburger Straße from 1970 to 1980 (today Findorff High School ). He then did an apprenticeship as an electrical system installer at Klöckner 's Bremen plant (today ArcelorMittal Bremen ) and he was a member of the youth and training representatives and a member of IG Metall . He then worked as a furnace electrician in shifts until 1990.
From 1990 to 2000 he was a member of the works council of the Bremen steel works and from 1994 to 2000 its head of the trust body.

From 2000 to 2008 he was political secretary of IG Metall in the area of ​​the coast of Hamburg and in Bremen. In 2008 he was promoted to the 2nd authorized representative of IG Metall Bremen and in 2001 to the 1st authorized representative. Since 2015 he has also been a member of the federal executive committee of IG Metall and its auditor.

In May 2019 he was elected to the Bremen citizenship.
