Birt is an impact crater in the eastern part of the Mare Nubium . To the east of the crater runs the Rupes Recta , an elongated, straight terrain formation, which was formerly also called the Long Wall , although it is only one step in the terrain. The Thebit crater is on the opposite side of this step .
Birt is bowl-shaped with a raised rim. The south-eastern rim of the crater is slightly covered by the Birt A satellite crater . West of Birt called a groove extends rima Birt in north-westerly direction in an arc of Birt F by Birt E .
