The Bishop Glacier is a glacier in the northwestern part of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It flows in a south-westerly direction to the Mozart Piedmont Glacier .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on June 11, 1980 after the British glaciologist James Francis Bishop (1950–1980) of the British Antarctic Survey , who was active on Alexander I Island from 1973 to 1975. July 1980 at Gilgit during a mission as part of the international Karakoram project of the Royal Geographical Society .
