The Bismarcksteg is a pedestrian bridge over the Wupper in the Elberfeld district of Wuppertal . It belongs to the inner city area of Elberfeld and connects the Schlossbleiche street north of the Wupper on the corner of the Wall with the southern left bank of the river with the Icelandufer street at the level of the Stadtsparkasse with the Sparkasse high- rise . The delicate bridge is built in Art Nouveau style and has wrought-iron arches .

The bridge was named on October 31, 1905 after the first Chancellor of the German Empire Otto von Bismarck (1815–1898).

Due to its dilapidation, it has been restored in recent years. A classification as a monument is in progress.
