Residential building

The residential building Bismarckstraße 95 is located in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) in the Gladbach district .

The house was built in 1901. It was entered in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach on June 2, 1987 under No. B 047 .

location

Bismarckstrasse was laid out towards the end of the 19th century and is now one of the city's main arteries. The house no. 95 is in the upper part of the street not far from the Kaiser-Friedrich-Halle .

architecture

The facade is made entirely of natural sandstone . Their hue, which has become dark over the years, goes well with the character of the house, which is built in the so-called castle style and dates from 1901. An inscription is cut into the frame and lintel of a semicircular bay window : ANNO DOMINI NINETEEN HUNDRED & ONE . The bay window ends with a slate semicircular roof .

The house no. 95 forms within a historical line with the numbers 97 and 99 a group of buildings in the so-called castle style, which is not often represented in Mönchengladbach. In view of this fact and the quality, the house is worth protecting for architectural and urban planning reasons.
