Bismarck fir

The Bismarck fir was a well-known silver fir in the Bavarian Forest .

It was near Zwieslerwaldhaus in the Regen district . Its stem, which has been cut off at a height of around ten meters, is located in the Zwiesel Forest Museum, as is a stem .

The annual rings show that the seedling was created around 1515. The tree reached almost 50 meters in height and at last had a diameter of 165 centimeters. In 1964 the Bismarck fir was knocked over by a gust of wind . It delivered 36  solid cubic meters of wood.
