The Bismarck Tower Hattingen is a lookout tower in the south of the city of Hattingen on the Schulenberg. The construction of the Bismarck Tower was decided by the City Council of Hattingen in 1899. The impetus was a donation of one thousand marks from the merchant Robert Hill .

The laying of the foundation stone was celebrated on July 17, 1900, on Bismarck's birthday on April 1, 1901, the tower made of Ruhr sandstone was inaugurated. The tower was planned by the architect, city architect Christoph Epping, with a height of 16 m, but was only built with a height of 11 m for cost reasons. Another planned floor was omitted. The entrance is spanned by a hall construction.

The tower offers a view of the old town of Hattingen, Winz-Baak and the Ruhr valley . The office towers in downtown Essen can be seen further away .

In spring 2004 the tower was damaged due to vandalism . The building was renovated by autumn 2007. The entrance was secured by a steel door. The key for the building could be borrowed from the nearby restaurant Die Neue Schulenburg against a deposit or presentation of an identity card.

The renovation, financed privately with € 9,000, was completed in April 2017 and the tower has been reopened for those interested.
