Bisnortilidine is a metabolite ( metabolite ) of tilidine . Tilidine is a drug used in pain therapy that is itself not very effective and is broken down through gradual demethylation. This initially creates the form that is actually effective in analgesics, nortilidine , from which the primary amine bisnortilidine is subsequently formed. After glucuronidation, both metabolites are mainly eliminated via the kidneys.
