The Diocese of Amadiyah ( Latin Dioecesis Amadiensis ) is a Chaldean Catholic diocese unified with the Roman Catholic Church and is based in Dohuk in Northern Iraq, which is controlled by the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan . The diocese was founded in 1785 and united with the diocese of Zaku to form the diocese of Zaku and Amadiyah in 2013 . In June 2020, the Chaldean Patriarch Louis Raphaël I Cardinal Sako rescinded the association and restored the Diocese of Amadiyah as an independent diocese with the previous Bishop Rabban al-Qas .
