Abdisho V. Khayat (born October 15, 1827 in Mosul ; † November 6, 1899 ) with real name Georges Ebed-Iesu Khayyat or Abdisho Giwargis Hayyat was the Patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans from 1894 to 1899 , in the Chaldean Catholic Church he was considered also as a Syrian scholar.

Abdisho Khayat is considered to be the author of the Mosul edition of the Syrian Bible (Old Testament) " Peshitta ". He studied at the College of the Propaganda Congregation in Rome and was ordained a priest in 1855 . The Chaldean Patriarch Joseph VI. Audo donated him episcopal ordination on March 28, 1860 , and Abdisho Khayat became Bishop of Amadiyah . From 1863 to 1870 he was Patriarchal Vicar of Mosul and from 1879 to 1894 Metropolitan and Archbishop of Amida (today: Diyarbakır). On October 28, 1894, he took over the Patriarchate of Babylon until his death on November 6, 1899. He served as a bishop for a total of 39 years.

He found his grave in the Mater Dolorosa Church in Baghdad.
