Pierre Eliyya Abo-Alyonan (* 1840 in Mosul ; † June 27, 1894 ibid) was as Eliyya XIV. Abo-Alyonan from 1878 to 1894 Patriarch of the Chaldean Catholic Church based in Mosul. His name was also written as Elie, Elias, Pietro Elia Abolionan, Abbo-Alyonan or Eliya Abulyonan and in the counting order he is listed as both XIII. And XIV.

Life

He studied for three years at the "College for the Dissemination of the Faith" in Rome and in 1865 was ordained a priest . On May 24, 1874, the Patriarch Joseph VI donated to him . Audo the episcopal ordination as bishop of Gazireh , today Cizre in Turkey . On July 26, 1878 he received the call to the Patriarch of Babylon the Chaldeans and was on February 28, 1879 by Pope Leo XIII. confirmed in this office.

During his tenure he tried, unlike his predecessor, Joseph VI. Audo to maintain good relations with Rome and the papal authorities. He died of typhus on June 27, 1894, after an episcopate of 17 years, at the age of 54 and was buried in the Mart Meskinta Cathedral in Mosul.
