Diocese of Cornwall
The diocese of Cornwall ( Latin : Dioecesis Cornubiensis ) was a Roman Catholic diocese located in what is now the United Kingdom , with its seat in St Germans .
history
The bishopric of Cornwall was established in 931 from cessions of territory by the bishopric of Crediton . It included the county of Cornwall . In 1040 the area of the bishopric of Cornwall was united with the bishopric of Crediton and the bishopric was moved to Exeter .
The diocese of Cornwall was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Canterbury as a suffragan .
In 1969 the diocese of Cornwall was re-established as the titular diocese of Sanctus Germanus .
