Björn Gunnlaugsson (born September 25, 1788 on the farm Tannstaðir; † March 17, 1876 ) was an Icelandic cartographer who made the first complete map of his home island.

Björn Gunnlaugsson traveled to Iceland on behalf of the Icelandic Literary Society ( Hið íslenska bókmenntafélag ) from 1831 to 1843, the results of his work were published as a topographic map on four sheets with a scale of 1: 480: 000. The date is often given as 1844, but the maps were probably not completed before 1848. In 1849 a smaller edition of the map with a scale of 1: 960,000 followed.
