The Vorfeige even Blühfeige , flowers fig , Breba or Breva called ( Italian : Profico , pl. Profichi ; French : figue-fleur ) is a fig the first possible maximum total of three fig generations that can grow on a fig tree. Not all fig varieties develop pre-figs. Pre-figs arise on the wood that grew in the previous year. Pre-figs of a fig variety differ more or less in appearance and taste from the autumn figs later formed on the new wood.

Inside the Vorfeige there are both male and female flowers, the female flowers short pen have so that the Feigengallwespe can their eggs in this flower store, so they develop into new Feigengallwespen that receive upon leaving the Vorfeige pollen from the male fig flowers and carry them to the autumn figs and pollinate them. Since it is too cold for the fig gall wasp in Germany, none of this takes place there. In Germany, only those fig varieties bear fruit that are virgin (parthenocarp), i.e. bear fruit without pollination .
