Black Rock Desert
The Black Rock Desert is an arid desert in the northwestern part of Nevada ( USA ). It lies on the lake bed of prehistoric Lake Lahontan , which existed during the last ice age . Its area is 30,044 km².
The therein salt lake is one of the flattest areas of the world, so there in 1997 with the ThrustSSC the speed - world record was set for land vehicles.
