Black So Man

Black So Man (actually Bintogoma Traoré , born May 11, 1966 ( Koudougou , Upper Volta ); † March 16, 2002 in Abidjan , Ivory Coast ) was a reggae musician from the West African state of Burkina Faso .

In his songs he used metaphors to criticize the prevailing conditions and the political elite in a poetic way. His debut album was a great success and despite his short career he is considered one of the most famous musicians in the country.

Black So Man was seriously injured in a traffic accident in December 1997 and died in Abidjan in early 2002. For a long time in Burkina Faso it was rumored that Black So Man had been killed for criticizing the system. His wife, who was in the car during the accident, assumes an accident.
