The Blair Glacier is a glacier on the Banzare coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It flows north to Maury Bay , which it reaches immediately west of the Bell Glacier .
The American cartographer Gardner "Gard" Dean Blodgett (* 1925) mapped it in 1955 using aerial photographs taken during Operation Highjump (1946–1947) of the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after James L. Blair (1815 – unknown), midshipman on the sloop USS Peacock during the United States Exploring Expedition (1838–1842) under the direction of polar explorer Charles Wilkes .
