The Maury Bay is an ice-covered bay at the Banzare coast of the East Antarctic Wilke country . It is located just east of Cape Lewis .
The American cartographer Gardner "Gard" Dean Blodgett (* 1925) mapped it in 1955 using aerial photographs taken during Operation Highjump (1946–1947) of the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the bay in 1955 after William Lewis Maury (1813–1878), lieutenant on the brig Porpoise during the United States Exploring Expedition (1838–1842) led by polar explorer Charles Wilkes .
