Blanquillo is a city in central Uruguay .

location

It is located in the eastern part of the Durazno department in sectors 6 and 13 . To the north of the city lies La Paloma , a few kilometers away , while Aguas Buenas and San Jorge can be found in the west and Las Palmas in the east-southeast .

Natural resources

Kaolin deposits are found in Blanquillo .

Infrastructure

Blanquillo is on a railway line that also connects it to Rossell y Rius and Sarandí del Yí, which are located to the south . The Ruta 43 also leads through the city.

Residents

Blanquillo had 1,084 inhabitants at the 2011 census, of whom 539 were men and 545 were women.
