The Blaser Swisslube AG , headquartered in Rüegsau is an internationally active Swiss coolant - and lubricant company .

The independent family company develops, produces and sells lubricants that are used in industry and trade, as well as cooling lubricants for the metalworking industry. The cooling lubricants are used in the manufacture of parts in the watch industry, medical technology and the aircraft industry. Blaser developed and manufactures cutting oils on Esterbasis derived from renewable resources.

history

The company was founded in 1936 by Willy Blaser. The company developed and sold shoe polish and cleaning products . After his son Peter Blaser joined the company in 1973, the product range was expanded to include cooling lubricants. The cooling lubricants product group now accounts for 90% of sales. The international expansion from 1974 onwards was connected with the expansion of the product portfolio. Initially, a sales network was established in Europe and overseas. Today this includes its own branches in the 60 largest industrial nations.

The first foreign production company was put into operation in Goshen ( USA ) in 1981 . Production plants followed in the People's Republic of China (1996) and India (2001).

In 2010 the third generation took over the management of the company. Marc Blaser has around 600 employees worldwide, around 300 of whom work at the headquarters.

The family corporation is not listed and does not publish any sales or profit figures.

Balloon sport group

The company has had its own balloon sport group since 1988 . Peter Blaser became Swiss champion twice and took second place once at the European Hot Air Balloon Championships. Marc Blaser was Vice Swiss Champion in 2010 and 2014 and in 2016 he finished 3rd.
