Blauer Hecht is the name of a commercial building in Leipzig at Nikolaistraße 39-45. It is connected to Reichsstraße via a passage. The house is a listed building.

history

Predecessor buildings before 1911

As early as 1551, reports were made about an inn "Zum Blaue Hecht", which comprised lots 43 and 45. An explanation for the name is not known. Over these properties and two neighboring ones, Leopold Stentzler, as the client and architect, built a commercial building in 1911/1912 after the previous buildings had been demolished, in which more than 30 companies in the fur industry found their home.

Stentzler also built a passage to the building at Reichsstrasse 30/32, which was called “Zurolden Traube”. That was a new store building from 1909/1910. The name came from a wine bar and was first mentioned in 1617.

The building on Reichsstrasse was demolished after being damaged in World War II . A large apartment block was built along Reichsstraße, so that the passage ends in a less attractive situation behind this building.

It is characterized by pillars , whose upper ends by animal heads below kapitellartig broken down have been completed in nine fields. In these, the windows are slightly trapezoidal. Above the eaves cornice sit four distinctive roof dormers with pointed gables on the ridge roof on which supports three rows of roof windows.

Above the ground floor lamps and putti alternate on consoles , each bearing different attributes . Between them, the window geometry is emphasized by arched wall elements. There are depictions of animals between the windows on the second and third floors. A large blue pike is placed above the passage entrance in the middle of the building as a house sign .

The passage leads through a small atrium that is glazed above the ground floor zone.
