The Blue Eye is a lake within the urban area of Bad Schmiedeberg in the Wittenberg district in Saxony-Anhalt .
The approximately two-hectare body of water is located north of Kreisstraße 2027 in a forest area between Bad Schmiedeberg and the Reinharz district . The extension is 220 by 130 meters, the water level is about 95 m above sea level. NHN .
The Blue Eye is an open pit filled with groundwater, in which gravel, sand and clay were once extracted. Today it is viewed as a biotope to be assessed positively in terms of nature conservation and landscape management and is used as a bathing lake.
In April 2018, the lake was a location for the film 100 Things .
