The blue-winged leaf bird ( Chloropsis cochinchinensis ) is a species of bird in the leaf bird family . It is widespread in Sri Lanka and India to southwest China and from southeast Asia to Java , Borneo and Sumatra .
The bird reaches a body length of up to 18 centimeters. The basic color of the body plumage is yellow-green. The wing coverts are blue-green. Females are more dull in color than males and do not have a black face mask. The beak is pointed and black. The singing is flute and is performed by both sexes.
Blue-winged leaf birds are free breeders. They build a bowl nest in the thick bushes, which is padded with soft grass and fine roots. The female lays two to three eggs, which are incubated for 13 to 14 days.
